Day in day out and Acne Breakout has always been linked to food choices. Some are told to eat Pizza, Chocolate, or even Processed foods. This has resulted in a lot of myths built up linking food to Acne. For instance, Junk food has always been linked to experiencing Acne. There is no connection between Acne and consuming crips and chips. According to Dr. Melanie Palm, a board-certified dermatologist; Greasy or deep-fried foods do not cause Acne.

According to Dr. Melanie Palm, a dermatologist, there are two groups of foods that you have to avoid when experiencing an acne breakout. This includes a diet with high glycemic index foods i.e., foods that have refined carbohydrates and sugars. High glycemic foods release glucose rapidly, which spikes blood sugar levels. The high blood sugar levels in return will trigger the production of oil, which clogs pores. This creates the best environment for the breakout of Acne.

According to Dr. Joshua Zechner, a dermatologist, high glycemic index foods are not only bread and wheat food but also Watermelon. He also includes Cow’s milk in the sequence. This is because skim milk has high sugar content. Dr. Joshua argues that high sugar loads in the blood activate messengers in the bloodstream that promotes skin inflammation. He goes ahead, saying that this food should also not be limited as this helps acne breakouts in Predisposed individuals.

Dr. Chwalek argues that worse, Acne is susceptible to an individual who does consume more dairy but not true to all people. Because interestingly, yogurt and cheese have not been associated with Acne.

All the acne patients have different ways through which they do react to different food levels. Therefore when experiencing an acne breakout, most dermatologists do recommend washing your facing twice daily. This will get rid of pore-clogging oils. This also eliminates any other acne-causing irritants.
